Busy week in Wuhan!  Yesterday I gave my lecture to a group of graduate students at Wuhan Textile University, which I will repeat at a different college tomorrow and will report more on my next blog.  Today, I held a tile slip decorating workshop for 60 students and about 10 faculty.  After a brief powerpoint for technique and inspiration I gave a demo on various ways to use slip on a tile surface.  The students had made the tiles yesterday and so once they decided on imagery they started in on the tiles.  The class started at 2 and ended at 5:30 although a number of the students stayed on afterwards to continue working.  My colleagues and now long time friends took me out for hot pot afterwards.  I am so privileged to have this continuing visiting scholar position here and a chance to develop these friendships and work with the students.
