Our second day brought us to the It had amazing stone carvings of calligraphy and statues of Buddhas. We saw the Small Goose pagoda, which was built in the Tang Dynasty (though rebuilt since!).
Later, in the Xi’an History Museum. I had never been before and it was very interesting. Some of my favorite ceramics of China are the Han and Tang figures.
The city wall has been restored and we walked along it for a while. It is twice the width of the great wall and has lovely gates and pavilions. We visited the new DAO Gallery, owned by our fearless leader Ichi Hsu. It is a lovely gallery space. The IAC members show from the China Assembly is now there permanently. It was a treat to see my piece from that show again!
